Matt Kessler is a Project Manager and subject matter expert in enterprise information technology at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Reston, VA. In this capacity, Matt leads a portfolio of projects spanning IT infrastructure systems, networks, and  mission applications.

Prior to his current role, Matt served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than two decades, retiring in June 2022. His final assignment was serving as the Marine Corps’ Head of Leadership Development at Marine Corps University. Previously, Matt lived in Okinawa, Japan, where he commanded a 1100-person organization responsible for logistics and communication capabilities throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Additional roles while in the Marines included serving as the Director of Officer Programs, where he oversaw officer recruiting and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan where worked with partner nations as an embedded military advisor.

 

Matt has a master’s degree from the Boston University, and BS in Business Administration from Alfred University, NY. He lives in Haymarket, VA with his wife Rebecca and two children, Edward and Rosie.
